Surprisingly, I wasn’t familiar with any of the choices Book of the Month offered this month, which is fairly unusual. Regardless, I did end up choosing The Water Dancer because it sounded so unique and different compared to my usual genres lately.
Fate of the Fallen sounded good too, but I was worried about starting a new series with so many other unread books on my TBR already. I didn’t select it this month, but I did add it to my future “wishlist”.
Since October is also my birthday month (and BOTM offers 1 free birthday book credit if you have BFF status!) I decided to use my add-on credit on Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky. YES! The same author who wrote “The Perks of Being a Wallflower 20 years ago!
Imaginary Friend is not an official BOTM selection, but instead an “extra” that is available as an add-on only. At 720 pages, it’s a little intimidating to look at but I’m way too excited to see Chbosky’s work after all these years to deter me away from it. I hope it’s worth it!
