Books Read This Month

Summary

The Lines We Leave Behind had a good plot but some of  it’s potential was lost along the way. There were many parts that really peaked my interest but then it sorta skims over it with just enough substance to keep you content.

The Last Time I Lied was a 5 star read for me. The story unfolds gradually between past and present dialogue which helps build up it’s gripping suspense. The thrilling twists were even better! I just selected his next book, “Lock Every Door” in my July Book of the Month box! Stay tuned for that review.

Before She Knew Him was a good thriller and the plot twists were done well, but some of it’s quirks made me drop my rating a little bit. It’s still a worthy read if you enjoy thrillers.

Recursion is a Science Fiction book with a hint of thriller action. It was quite unique to other books in the genre. I really enjoyed this one.

Rare Bird: A Memoir successfully brought me from heart-shattering tears to profound hope and faith all within a couple hundred pages. It exposes every stage of loss and healing into vivid intensity. You won’t forget this one.

Sing, Unburied, Sing is a skillfully crafted ghost story about a southern African-American family and their haunting lives. It approaches topics such as death, addiction, racism and poverty that will squeeze your heart raw.
