My Book Box arrived today! ⁣

Since I’ve had great luck with the Mystery and YA picks lately I decided to stick with the same genres this month. ⁣

This month’s books are:⁣
I Spy by Claire Kendal and Let’s Call it Doomsday by Katie Henry. ⁣

❤️ I love the magnetic bookmark from The Nerdy Butterfly and key chain from Hello World Paper Co. too! ⁣*

I SPY by Claire Kendal

Holly Lawrence always wanted to be a spy, but the experience proved more dangerous than anything she imagined. Now, Holly lives under an assumed name, hiding from the man who nearly destroyed her life. She avoids relationships and trusts no one.

But Holly’s new life begins to unravel when she encounters a young mother and her two-year-old child… a child who reminds her of a past she has tried hard to forget. This time, someone is spying on her, and Holly will need to decide how far she is willing to go to survive.

LET’S CALL IT DOOMSDAY by Katie Henry

There are many ways the world could end. There could be a fire. A catastrophic flood. A supereruption that spews lakes of lava. Ellis Kimball has made note of all possible scenarios, and she is prepared for each one. What she doesn’t expect is meeting Hannah Marks in her therapist’s waiting room. Hannah calls their meeting fate. After all, Ellis is scared about the end of the world; Hannah knows when it’s going to happen.

Despite Ellis’s anxiety—about what others think of her, about what she’s doing wrong, about the safety of the ones she loves—the two girls become fast friends. But time is ticking down, and as Ellis tries to help Hannah decipher the details of her doomsday premonition, their search for answers only raises more questions. When does it happen? Who will believe them? How do you prepare for the end of the world when it feels like your life is just getting started?

Can you believe August is practically over already?

My daughter started 8th grade at a new school this year and my son is celebrating his senior year of high school!
Needless to say, it’s been a little crazy around here. In fact, I haven’t read a single book at all this month! *GASPS* 😱
I know, right?! My TBR pile has been giving me the stink eye for weeks now and it’s really starting to bother me. ⁣

No matter! I plan to kick off September with a bang and catch up on all the great reads I’ve missed. What has everyone else been reading? Any good recommendations I should start reading for September?⁣

*note: the patch quilt book tote is my own prop and is not included in the MBB subscription.⁣
